Cookie Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how TechoClip (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit techoclip.com. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have to control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time. Similar technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, and software development kits work in comparable ways by storing or reading information on your device. Throughout this policy we use the word “cookies” to refer to all of these technologies, and we group them by purpose below.

Cookies may be “first-party” (set by TechoClip) or “third-party” (set by another organization, such as an advertising provider, when their content is loaded on our pages). They may also be “session” cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

Why we use cookies

We use cookies to keep the Site secure and functioning, to remember your preferences such as your light or dark theme choice, to understand in aggregate how the Site is used so we can improve it, and—where you have consented—to display and measure advertising. We do not use cookies to collect more information than is necessary for these purposes.

How we categorise cookies

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function — security, load balancing, and remembering your light/dark theme choice (stored in your browser’s localStorage, not transmitted to us). These do not require consent and are always active because the Site cannot work properly without them.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display ads. When you consent, Google and its partners may set cookies (for example __gads, __gpi, IDE, DSID) to serve and measure ads and, where permitted, personalise them. These cookies are not set until you grant consent. By default, under Google Consent Mode v2, ad storage, ad personalisation and ad-user-data are set to denied until you choose otherwise. These cookies typically have lifespans ranging from a single session up to around 13 months, and are governed by Google’s own policies.

Analytics

If analytics are enabled, measurement cookies help us understand aggregate, non-identifying usage — for example, which articles are most read and how visitors move through the Site. Analytics storage is also denied by default until consent is granted. We use this information only to improve our content and the experience of the Site.

Cookies we may set

The exact cookies present depend on your consent choices and whether features such as comments are used. Common examples include: a theme preference stored in localStorage (strictly necessary, persistent); Google AdSense advertising cookies such as __gads and __gpi (advertising, set only after consent); and, if you leave a comment, standard WordPress comment cookies that remember your name and email for convenience (functional, set only when you choose to comment). Because some of these are set by third parties, the precise names and durations may change over time.

Your consent and how to control cookies

On your first visit from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, our Google-certified consent message (Privacy & messaging / Funding Choices) asks whether you accept or reject non-essential cookies. We honour your choice through Google Consent Mode v2, and we also respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal automatically. Until you grant consent, no advertising or analytics cookies are stored on your device.

You can change or withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which will cause the consent message to appear again, or by managing cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings or privacy menus. Please be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working. You can also opt out of personalised Google advertising at myadcenter.google.com, and review industry opt-out tools at the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative.

Managing cookies in your browser

Each browser handles cookie settings differently. You can usually find these controls in the “Settings”, “Preferences”, or “Privacy” menu of your browser. The major browsers provide help pages explaining how to manage cookies in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you use multiple devices or browsers, you will need to adjust your settings on each one.

Third parties

Google’s use of advertising cookies is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and its information on how Google uses data from partner sites. We do not control cookies set by third parties and recommend reviewing their policies. Where third-party content is embedded in our pages, those providers may set their own cookies subject to your consent.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in technology, the cookies we use, or applicable law. The “last updated” date above shows the latest revision, and we encourage you to review this page periodically. Questions? Use our contact page.
